For those in our Local Community who are familiar with the amazing work Lloreen [RUA] does with & for the Donkeys, here is more of the amazing work she does. The rescue of Lions & other Cats from Circuses, Zoos and other awful situations. And not just locally – from ALL OVER the world. You now have the opportunity to get involved in some form or other. It is also a very unique and totally amazing opportunity to interact with these beautiful Felines. One that you would not ordinarily get.
Schrikkloof Private Nature Reserve
The Lions Foundation is located in the magnificent Schrikkloof Private Nature Reserve, a 1200ha reserve in the Waterberg Biosphere. Guests are welcome to stay in their beautiful, African-style resort. Combine your stay with a visit to The Lions Foundation!
Najla & Sara
Lloreen personally rescued Najla & Sara 2 lions which are now at the Schrikkloof Private Nature Reserve.
Sara was kept by people in the desert of Kuwait. If they couldn’t sell her, they would shoot this young lioness.
Najla was bought illegally by a private individual when she was a cub.
She was rescued and temporarily housed in Kuwait Zoo. Kuwait Zoo cared for Najla until she was strong enough to move to The Lions Foundation.
